Glaeser Elsie Emma Hinze Glaeser was born Sept. 6, 1912 in Kenney, the daughter of Reinhold and Augusta Grebe Hinze. She was a lifelong resident of Austin County and a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville. On Nov. 12, 1931 she married Willie Glaeser in New Wehdem. They made their home in Kenney before moving to Bellville in the early 1980s. Willie preceded Elsie in death. Elsie passed away Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006 in a Bellville nursing facility at the age of 94. She is survived by her grandsons Matt Waak and wife Dee Ann of Bellville, David Waak of Lake Charles, La., Ricky Waak and his friend Kristy Brenner of Bellville; granddaughter Becky Williams and her husband Donnie of Bellville; great grandchildren Darrell Waak, Dylan Waak, Marshall Waak and Joshua Goebel, all of Bellville; sister-in-law Almeida Hinze; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Verlein Glaeser Waak, son-in-law James Allen Waak, brother Herbert Hinze and sister Erna Hinze. Friends called from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006 at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jennie Jones and Pastor David Henske officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Knoll Cemetery. Pallbearers were Matt Waak, Ricky Waak, David Waak, Donnie Williams, Joshua Goebel and Darrell Waak. In lieu of usual remembrances, friends who wish may make memorial gifts to St. John Lutheran Church, 520 N. Holland, Bellville, Texas 77418.
