Barry Leigh, 67, of Houston, died on Sept. 3, 2006 while surrounded by his family. He was born on the Aug. 22, 1939 in Upper Paia, Maui. He graduated from Lamar High School in Houston in 1957 and attended The University of Hawaii. As a Certified Optician, Barry owned and operated EyeWear Unlimited for 29 years. Barry was preceded in death by his son, Rob, in 1999. He is survived by his wife and business partner, Vicki; daughters, Karen and Janet; grandchildren, Emily and Brandon; parents, Dr. and Mrs. Richard Leigh; sisters, Aileen Devine and Terry Leigh; and his loyal Labrador Retriever, Polly. Barry will be remembered for his loyalty and devotion to God, his love of family, especially his wife, and his professional ethics. Barryıs dedication to his profession will be continued by his wife, Vicki, when she opens a new EyeWear Unlimited in November at 1415 South Voss Road, Suite 220. Barry will be truly missed by his family, dear friends and loyal customers. A memorial service celebrating Barryıs life was conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14 in The Old Church of St. Martinıs Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road in Houston, with the Rev. Stuart A. Bates and the Rev.John R. Bentley, Jr. officiating. Immediately following the service, all are invited to join the family for a reception in the adjacent Bagby Parish Hall. In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions in memory of Barry may be directed to St. Martinıs Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Rd., Houston, TX, 77056; or to LifeGift Organ Donation Center, 5615 Kirby Dr., Ste. 900, Houston, TX, 77005.
