Funeral services for John Edward MacDonald, Jr., 62, of Sealy were conducted April 3, 2006 at Knesek Bros. Chapel in Sealy, with Deacon Jerome Losack officiating. MacDonald died Wednesday, March 29, 2006 in Bellville. John was born in East Weymouth, Mass., on January 21, 1944 to Thelma Royal MacDonald and John Edward MacDonald Sr. He was raised in Marshfield, Mass., where he graduated from high school. On January 9, 1993, John married the former Miss Kathy Shea with ceremony held in Sealy. John was a positive, happy and friendly man, quick with a joke and a laugh. He loved fishing, boating, camping and most of all, being surrounded by family and friends. Although disabled by diabetes, he never slowed down, making beautiful wood furniture in his shop, mowed the grass and continuing on with life. MacDonald built homes by trade and he and wife, Kathy, were in the process of building their dream home when he died. He is survived by his wife -- Kathy Shea MacDonald of Sealy; sisters -- Charlene Olsen and Barbara Peterson, both of Massachusetts; mother-in-law -- Rhea "Mum" Shea; and sister-in-law -- Brigid Stevenson and her husband, Ken, of Houston. He is also survived by three children -- Sean Michael MacDonald and wife, Toni; a grandson, Talon, of Bellville, Patrick John MacDonald and wife Susan, and grandson Christopher of Wallis; and daughter Jeanne MacDonald with grandsons Trevor, Jared, Jacob and Ricky of Massachusetts. Mother of his children is Joan Barbara MacDonald of Massachusetts. He was proceeded in death by his father, mother and sister, Ruthie. Arrangements by Knesek Funeral Home. Posted by Joy Neely
