Perry Lee Marek was born June 18, 1937 in New Ulm, Texas to parents Otto and Nervie Rinn Marek. He was baptized and confirmed in the Industry Brethren Church. A 1955 graduate of Bellville high School, Perry received his Associates Degree in Applied Services from Blinn Junior College in 1957. He served his country in the United States Army from 1960-1962. He married Georgia Marie Klinkovsky on June 28, 1969 at the Bethel Presbyterian Church in East Columbia, Texas. Perry and Georgia made their home in Bellville where they were members of the Bellville United Methodist Church. Perry was employed as an accountant. He was a Director of the First National Bank in Bellville, and was a member of the Bellville Community Foundation, the Austin County Livestock Association and the Bellville Lions Club where he had served as Secretary/Treasurer and had been named Citizen of the Year. He also served as Secretary for the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery Association. Perry passed away Monday, July 31, 2006 at his home in Bellville at the age of 69. He is survived by his children: Chad Marek and his wife, Abby, of Crosby, and Michelle Heintschel and her husband, Bruce, of Bellville; granddaughter: Lainey Marek; Grandsons: Tyler and Brett Heintschel; and his sister and brother-in-law: Mae and Jeff Emshoff of Bellville. Also surviving Perry is his mother-in-law, Viola Klinkovsky of Damon; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Benny Howard of Richmond, Anna and Mike neff of West Columbia, Joe and Susan Klinkovsky of Damon and Barbara and Tom Bennett of Alvin; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Georgia, on March 29, 1990, and his brother, C.J. Marek. The funeral service was held at 10:00 am, Thursday, August 3, 2006, in the Bellville United Methodist Church with Reverend W.C. Hall, Jr., officiating. Interment was held at Pilgrimıs Rest Cemetery. Pallbearers were Spencer Bennett, Jerry Emshoff, Jr., Mark Emshoff, Joe Klinkovsky, IV, Mark Lackey, and Ernie Luera. Honorary Pallbearers were Nelson Davis, Billy Jackson, Billy Mewis, Kermit Dittert, and Douglas Marek.
