John "Jack" McArdle died Oct. 24, 2006 in Bellville. Born in Newark, N.J., John was the son of Frank McArdle and Mary (Plum) McArdle. John lived in Kearny, N.J. for 40 years and then moved to Chadwick, N.J. where he lived for 20 years. Mr. John "Jack" McArdle married Elizabeth D. McArdle, whom died Dec. 29, 2003. He worked as a bus driver 40 years for the New Jersey transit system in Newark, N.J. John served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Halsey-Powell during World War II. John was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and he spent time at the Tom River Senior Citizens Center. His hobbies were bowling and playing cards. He is survived by his children son and daughter-in-law, John McArdle, Jr. and Sue of Wawatosa, Wis., daughter and son-in-law. Colleen Kelly and Robert J. of Bellville; four grandchildren, Chris McArdle, Andy McArdle of Wawatosa Wis., Kevin Kelly, Brandon Kelly of Bellville and three great grandchildren, Robert J. Kelly, Michael R. Kelly of Bellville, and Megan McArdle of Wawatosa, Wis. Services are to follow in the spring in New Jersey. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Austin County Unit Verna Lois Deere, Memorial Chairman, P.O. Box 501, Bellville, Texas 77418.
