Miller Graveside Services for Verna Oberia Miller, 98, of Bellville were held Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006 at 3 p.m. from Oak Knoll Cemetery in Bellville with the Rev. Carmen Rickel officiating. Interment was an Oak Knoll Cemetery. Born in Archer County, Texas, Verna was the daughter of James M. Black and Tommie (Crabtree) Black. She was raised in Archer County. Verna graduated from Weslaco Public School in Archer City. She was a teacher at a Business College. Verna was of Methodist Faith. The former Miss Verna Oberia Black married Thomas E. Matlock 1924. In 1939 she married Roy Miller with ceremony held in Mission, Texas. Verna Oberia Miller died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006 in Bellville. She is survived by her daughter Patsy Faken of Bellville; grandchildren Dennis Faken, Jr. and Jill Ortiz and her niece Mildred Hurley of San Antonio. Preceded in death by her parents James M. and Tommie Black, her husbands, Thomas E. Matlock and Roy Miller, son Sidney E. Matlock and her granddaughter Denise Faken.
