Edith Marie Brown Mullins was born in Houston, Texas on October 28,1922. The daughter of Charles and Alice Mae Kester Brown, she grew up and attended school in Houston. During her working years, Edith had been employed as a collator operator for Nelson and Roach Printing Company. A top operator in her field, she was very proud of her position. She retired at the age of 62. She moved to Bellville, Texas in 1986 to be with her family. They have made their home in Bleiblerville since 2004. She enjoyed playing Bingo, fishing, gardening and traveling, and was of the Baptist faith. She passed away Sunday, July 23, 2006 in Bellville at the age of 83. She is survived by her sons: James Mullins of Bellville, and John Estes and his wife, Lucille, of Pattison; and daughters: Joanne Mullins of Bellville; and Mildred Maynard and her husband George of Kenney. Also surviving Edith are her grandchildren: John David Estes of Houston and Brenda Williams of Tomball; great grandchildren: Jon Luke Estes and Austin Estes, both of Conroe; and many other friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial services were held at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville, Texas, on July 27, 2006 at 7:00 PM with Pastor Steve Ponder officiating.
