Funeral services for Stanley W. "Bert" Noviskie, 89, of Cat Spring, Texas, were held Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Cat Spring with the Rev. Kevin Haug officiating. Interment was at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Bellville. Pallbearers serving were Larry Uhlig, Robert Uhlig, Alan Uhlig, Lawrence Petrosky, Alan Crosby, M.T. Karonika, Howard Banning and Randy Noviskie. Born and raised in Piney Community, Texas, Standley was the son of Louis and Frances (Wolters) Noviskie. Bert worked as a steel fitter for Mosher Steel Co. He married the former Miss Myrtle Theuman on Jan. 19, 1942 in Houston. Bert served hi country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Cat Spring. Stanley "Bert" Noviskie died March 5, 2006 in Columbus, Texas. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Bobby Sronce of Cat Spring; sons and daughters-in-law Glenn and Cindy Noviskie of Katy and Gary and Denise Noviskie of Houston; sisters, Clara Einkauf and Marie Ognoskie, both of Houston; grandchildren Jamie, Natalie, Jason, Ryan, Carrie and Courtney; and two great-grandsons. Preceded in death by his parents Louis and Frances Noviskie; wife Myrtle Noviskie; sisters Cecilia Koteras and Johann Cieslewicz; brothers, Louis Frank Noviskie, Charlie Noviskie, Brian Noviskie, and Johnny Noviskie.
