Funeral services for Fallis Joseph Rousseau were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lani Rousseau officiating. Interment followed in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Fallis died Sunday, March 26, 2006. He was 96. Born on October 6, 1909 in Marksville, La., Fallis was the son of William and Domelice Brouillette Rousseau. He moved to Bellville in 1934 where he was a serviceman for Brouillette Furniture Co. He was united in marriage in Bellville to Miss Evelyn Loesch on August 13, 1941. A Catholic by faith, he loved spending time with his family and enjoyed working and hunting. He is survived by his wife: Evelyn Loesch Rousseau of Bellville; sons -- Donald Rousseau and wife, Lani, of Katy; and Michael Rousseau of Houston; daughter -- Ann Marie Rousseau of Bellville; sisters -- Loraine Bunk and husband, Max, of Florida; and Rena Juneau of Louisiana. Also surviving Fallis are four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Domelice Rousseau; brother -- Ivy Rousseau; and sisters, Ruby Rousseau, Helen Parker and Una Wilson. Pallbearers were Chris Havard, Douglas Mandeville, Chad Rousseau, William Bogar, Manny Moran and Dylan Booth. Honorary pallbearers were Hurmon Havard, Darrell Calderon, Richard Ross and Eddie Dever, Sr. Honorary pallbearers were Hurmon Havard, Richard Ross, Darrell Calderon and Eddie Dever Sr. In lieu of usual remembrances friends may make memorial to: Bellville General Hospital, c/o Margie Lovell, PO Box 977, Bellville, TX 77418 or to the American Cancer Society, Austin County Unit, c/o Verna Lois Deere, Memorial Chair, PO Box 501, Bellville, TX 77418.
