Funeral services for Elizabeth Ida Robertson Rutledge were conducted Sunday, March 12 at Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Glynn Little, officiating. Interment was in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Bellville. Born in Houston, Texas, on July 23, 1927, Elizabeth Ida Robertson Rutledge was the daughter of Arthur John and Edna Maude Morman Robertson. She grew up and attended school in Houston where she was united in marriage with William Rutledge on July 3, 1971. A Baptist by faith, Elizabeth was a devoted wife and mother, and treasured the time she spent with her family. She enjoyed fishing, working in her yard and cooking. She passed away Thursday, March 9, 2006 in Brenham, at the age of 78. She is survived by her husband: William Rutledge of Bellville; sons: John Ray McCullough of Houston and Jim Moore and wife, Darlene, of Spring; daughters: Rebecca Herren and her husband, Ray, of Houston, Kathy Kaufmann and her husband, David, of Spring, and Sugar Wendt and her husband, Ray, of Bellville; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving Elizabeth is her sister: Ella June Robinson of Houston; brothers: Bert Robertson and Arthur Robertson, both of Bedias many other friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Arthur Wayne Moore, one brother, Peewee Robertson, and her son sister, Bertha Garner. Pallbearers were James Kaufmann, Lee Heren, Michael Moore, Stephen Wendt, Davey Kaufman, Nathan Wendt. Honorary Pallbearers were Arthur Moore, Jr., Thomas Moore, Henry Herren, Junior McCullough and Adam McCullough. Arrangements were by Schmidt Funeral Home, Bellville. Posted by Joy Neely
