Sander
Bernice Marie Kaechele Sander passed away at her home in Bellville Monday,
Nov. 20, 2006.
Bernice and her twin brother Bruno were born on December 27, 1914 in Kenney,
Texas to Dora and Lee Kaechele. They also had an older sister Clara Krumrey
McDonough. Her parents and siblings preceded her in death.
She married her high school sweetheart A.A. Sander Jr. at Saint Maryıs
Episcopal Church on January 17, 1937. Bub preceded her in death October
1982. Together they made their home in Bellville where they ranched and
owned the Sander Package Store for 19 years prior to retiring. They enjoyed
opening their home and entertaining friends and family throughout their
lives. Berniceıs sense of fun was appreciated by all who knew her.  She was
deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son Albert A. Sander Jr., her daughter-in-law Jean
Sander, grandchildren Susan Sander McSherry and husband Dean, David Sander
and wife Beth, her great grandchildren Camille McSherry, Hannah McSherry,
Clayton Sander and Phoebe Sander. She is also survived by extended Sander
and Kaechele families of nieces and nephews.
Much gratitude and thanks to her long time friend Tony Gerhardt, and care
givers Frances Sebesta and Dorothy Hill whose wonderful attentiveness
allowed Bernice to remain at home until her death.
A memorial service will be held at Saint Maryıs Episcopal Church Saturday,
Dec. 2, 2006 at 2 p.m. The family will greet friends at a church reception
following the service.
Internment will be at Oak Knoll Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of
flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Saint Maryıs Episcopal
Church 24 North Masonic Bellville, Texas 77418.
