Billie Charlene Waak Schrader was born Dec. 24, 1950 in Brenham to Conway Lloyd Waak, Sr. and Helen Landrum Waak. She was baptized and confirmed in the Bellville United Methodist Church. She grew up and attended school in Bellville. During her high school years, Billie excelled at basketball, lettering 3 years and earning All-District and All-Regional Honors her senior year. After graduating from Bellville High School in 1969, she attended Ouachita Baptist University for one year before obtaining her LVN certification from Blinn Junior College in 1972. On April 10, 1971, Billie married Darrell Schrader at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville. They have made their home in Bellville and have been members of the Bellville United Methodist Church. From 1972 until 1975, Billie was employed at Memorial City Hospital in Houston. After leaving Memorial City Hospital, she managed Waak's Sausage and Meat Market for the next 15 years in Burleigh. Returning to nursing in 1990, Billie worked at Colonial Belle Nursing Home for two years in Bellville, then in 1992 she began a 13-year career at Bellville General Hospital. From 2005 to present, she worked part-time at Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. She truly loved caring for other people. A collector of antiques, Billie also enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking and cooking. She passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006 at her home in Bellville at the age of 55. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Darrell Schrader of Bellville; son Russell Schrader and his wife, Brooke, also of Bellville; daughter Kelli Camp-bell and her husband, John, of Johnson City; parents Conway and Helen Waak of Bellville; brothers and sisters Conway Waak, Jr. and his wife, Marlene, of Carmine, Kyle Waak and his wife, Janet, of Jersey Village, Peggy Emshoff and her husband, Weldon, of New Wehdem and Candi Hardin and her husband, Johnny, of Bellville; sister-in-law Velva Riddle and her husband, Kenneth, of Gatesville; brother-in-law Harlan Schrader and his wife, Jackie, also of Bellville; and many other dear friends and relatives. Funerals ervice was 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 10, 2006 at Bellville United Methodist Church with Pastor Robert Stutes and Pastor Carmen Rickel, officiating. Interment followed in the Coshatte Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronald Koehn, Nixon Schrader, Travis Koehn, Glen Schrader, Curtis Koehn and Charles Schrader. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Riddle, John Hardin, Chance Waak, Keith Hardin, Ty Hardin, Kyle Adam Waak, Jon Schrader and Shea Emshoff. In lieu of usual remembrances, friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Bellville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 188. Bellville, Texas 77418.
