Elroy S. Scott Jr. was born April 25, 1970 in Galena Park, Texas. The son of Elroy Stanley and Mary Ayers Scott, he grew up and attended school in Galena Park. He made his home in Trinity until his marriage to Debbie Fox on April 24, 1993 in Carlisle, Texas. Elroy and Debbie lived in Bellville until 1999 when they moved to New Ulm. Elroy was employed as a rig worker in the oil field industry in Goliad. An avid bass fisherman who enjoyed inventing and making his own lures, he had recently joined the Morning Star Cowboy Church in Kenney. He passed away Sunday. April 30, 2006 in New Ulm at the age of 36. He is survived by his wife Debbie Scott of New Ulm; daughter LeAnn Hensley of Huntsville; father and stepmother Elroy, Sr. and Peggy Jo Scott of Sam Rayburn; mother Mary Scott of Galena Park; sisters Dorena Reed and her husband, Mike, of Galena Park and Karen Bickers of Crosby; 2 nephews. 3 nieces; 1 great nephew; and many other friends and relatives. Visitation was 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville. Funeral service was 1 ;.m. Friday, May 5, 2006 at Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harry Brisco officiating. Interment was in the New Ulm Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Reed, Wade Waltrip, Paul Eckels, Randy Dean, Russell Pope and Mike Kepfer. Jim Walker and Chuck Olson were honorary pallbearers. In lieu of usual remembrances, friends who wish may make memorial gifts to: Freedom Hall, 1306 N.
