Funeral Services for Felsie Lexie (Hribek) Sebesta, 84, of Oak Hill were held on Monday, May 1, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. from Nelsonville Brethren Church in Nelsonville with the Rev. Michael Groseclose officiating. Interment was in the National Cemetery in Nelsonville. Serving as pallbearers were John Hribek, Kenneth Lehmann, Lawrence Mikeska, Nelson Mikeska, Jr., Frank Sebesta, Jr., James Sebesta, Joe Sebesta and Leon Sebesta. Honorary pallbearers were Norman Novosad, Buddy Bollmeyer, Albin Kurcera, Nolan Garrett, Alex Jones, Keith Vinyard, Norman Hirsch, Tony De Leon, John McCormick and Dave Swartz. Felsie Lexie (Hribek) Sebesta was born to parents Emil and Annie (Kalina) Hribek. She was the youngest of nine children. She grew up in the Kovar Community and attended Kovar and Smithville schools. She was a Gold Star Girl in 4-H and enjoyed her Spanish classes in high school. She graduated from Smithville High School in 1941. She then worked for Adams Abstract and Title Co. in Bastrop. She met Arthur Charles Sebesta at a church convention at the Wesley Brethren Church and married him Nov. 12, 1949 at the Kovar Brethren Church. She and Arthur settled on their farm at the Oak Hill Community near Bellville and raised their family there. They had three children and were later blessed with six grandchildren. Throughout her life, Felsie enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and being a homemaker. She also enjoyed her life in the Nelsonville Brethren Church. She enjoyed Sunday School and the Christian Sisters. Her greatest joys came from being with her family. Felsie passed away April 27, 2006 to a better home in heaven. She is survived by her daughters, Charleen Skelton and husband Michael of Austin and Betsy Choate and husband Duane of The Woodlands; son, David Sebesta and wife Karen of Bellville; sister, Mary Hofferek; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Nelson and Ethel Mikeska, sister-in-law, Elvis Sebesta, and grandchildren, Christina Skelton, Erica (Rikki) and Lance Sebesta, Sarah, Mark and Matthew Choate and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Annie Hribek, husband, Arthur Sebesta, brothers, Charles, Bill and Julius Hribek, sisters, Julia Travnicek, Lillian Surovik, Vlasta Huser and Louise Volcik. Memorial Contributions may be made to Nelsonville Brethren Church, 332 Nelsonville Church Road, Bellville, Texas 77418.
