Dolly Dell Sibley Sykora was born June 4, 1928 in Houston. The daughter of Henry Clay and Edna O'Brien Sibley, she grew up and attended school in north Houston. While she was growing up, Dolly helped on the family's dairy farm before and after school. She later worked briefly as a waitress in her sister's and brother-in-law's cafe in Houston. On Sept. 20, 1966, Dolly married Benjamin John Sykora, Sr. in Richmond, Texas. They made their home in Spring until 1981 when they moved to Bellville. Ben preceded Dolly in death on August 24, 1990. A devoted wife and mother, Dolly enjoyed being a homemaker. She also liked to spend time mowing and working in her yard, and was an active member of the Bellville Chapter #611, Order of the Eastern Star. She passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006 in a Temple hospital at the age of 77. She is survived by her daughter Beverly Wienecke of Bellville; sons William "Bill" Wunderlich and his wife, Coy, of Magnolia, and Olen Louis Taylor of Brenham; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister Georgia Wied of Sealy; brother B.J. Sibley of Houston; and numerous other dear friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, sister, daughter and husband. Funeral Service was 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006 at Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Bellville with the Rev. Lynn Burling officiating. Pallbearers were Tyler Wunderlich, Travis Wunderlich, O.V. Spencer, Brian Haevischer, George Wied and Brian Laake. Honorary Pallbearers were Donald Paulson, Joe Rutledge and Ken Marcus. In lieu of usual remembrances, friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the charity of their choice. Schmidt Funeral Home of Bellville was in charge of arrangements. Posted by Joy Neely
