Celebration of Life for Rosie Pilcik Wasicek of Wallis was conducted
Thursday, March 9, 2006 at Knesek and Sons Funeral Home in Wallis with the
Rev. Melinda McGeen Brown officiating. She died March 5, 2006 in Pinehurst,
surrounded by family.
Interment was in Wallis City Cemetery.
She had attained the age of 92 years. Mrs. Pilcik was the daughter of Frank
F. Pilcik and Rosie Susan Pilcik. She was born in East Bernard, Wharton
County, on September 30, 1913 and moved to Wallis in 1934.
She was married to Walter J. Wasicek on August 14, 1934 in Ellinger, Texas.
For a number of years she worked at River Oaks Bank in Houston and for 21
years at Union State Bank in East Bernard.
She was a member of OES, Wallis United Methodist Church, Wallis Book club,
SPJST, American Legion Auxiliary, Wallis Methodist Church Auxiliary and
Wallis Dance Club.
Survivors include sons Walter J. Wasicek, Jr. and wife Joanna Wasicek of
Pinehurst; David L. Wasicek and wife Debra Carson Wasicek of Port O'Connor;
brothers, Albin J. Pilcik and Lodie Pilcik and wife Evelyn of East Bernard.
She was preceded in death by husband, Walter J. Wasicek; brother, Raymond
Pilcik; Frank Pilcik and sister, Olga Macha.
Pallbearers were Johnny Filip, Alvin Marek, Erwin Wilke, Daniel Macha, Don
Daft and Marvin Pless.
