Brast Funeral services for Lorene Lueckemeyer Brast, 82, of Bellville were held Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. from Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Bellville with Pastor Robert Stutes officiating with eulogy by Edward Frankum. The burial was at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Bellville. Pallbearers serving were Keith Brast, Corey Brast, Harry Brast, Robert Bullard, Gary Bullard and Tommy Gibson. Lorene Lueckemeyer Brast was born Sept. 29,1924, in the Kenney Community. The daughter of Edwin and Erna Hoff Lueckemeyer, she grew up on a farm near Bellville and attended Bellville School. On April 21, 1945 she was united in marriage with Albert Milton Brast in the St. John Lutheran Church of Bellville. They lived in different places in Texas but lived the last years in Bellville. Lorene was a homemaker most of her years. She loved to sew, which she did for her family and for some time for the public. She also worked for Perry Brothers in Brazoria for a while. She was a very devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to dance, which she learned at an early age. She also loved to play dominoes and go on vacations. She passed away Jan. 21, 2007 in Houston at the age of 82. She is survived by her husband of 62 years and children Carol Ann Gibson and husband Tommy of Clute and son Larry Brast and wife Vicki of Sherman; grandchildren Keith Brast and wife Shelley, Corey Brast and wife Tammy of Sherman and Chandra Trevino and husband David of Angleton; great grandchildren Kyle and Megan Bates and Kolyn Brast. Preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Erna Lueckemeyer. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bellville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 188, Bellville, Texas 77418.
