Bellville Times

Homegoing service for Andrew "Frog" East was held Saturday, July 14, 2007 at
11 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Bellville with Pastor Michael
Barber officiating.
He was born Aug. 25, 1928 in Bellville, the son of Lovie and Christine
Jackson East.
He was raised in Austin County and worked at Port City Stock Yard in Brenham
Sealy, Hockley and Industry for many years until he became ill. He also
worked for the Lange family for a number of years.
He passed away July 6, 2007 in Bellville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, two sisters and three
brothers.
Survivors include his wife Ruby Harris-East of Bellville; children of first
marriage to Mildred Sanders-East, Loraine East (Richard Alexander), Earlene
East-Cochran (George Lewis)-Houston, Gary C. East (Brenda)-Bellville,
Carolyn S. East, Anthony East-Houston; children from second marriage to
Ruby, Shelia LaChapelle (Jon)-Missouri City, Stacey Thomas
(Jonathan)-Houston; stepchildren, Bobbie Hurman (Anthony)-Houston, Sharon
Phillips-Missouri City, Clarence Harris Jr. (Barbara)-Bellville, Ronnie
Harris Sr. (Cathy)-Bellville; brother-in-law hardy Southern Jr.
(Dorothy)-Houston; sisters-in-law Barbara Fay Ward-Bellville, Lorean House
(Telford)-Houston; sister Marjorie Porter (Andrew)-Sealy; a host of nieces,
nephews, numerous other relatives, friends and neighbors.
Grandchildren are Catina East, Tyson East, Reginald Cochran, Terra Cochran,
Dietrich Browning, Donte' East, Shayla East, John LaChapelle, Briana
LaChapelle, Justin LaChapelle, Breah LaChapelle, Jordan LaChapelle, Jay-Von
Thomas, Jay-Mari Thomas, Jay-Den Thomas and Jaycey Thomas and 10 great
grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were Clarence Harris Jr., Anthony Hurman Sr., Hardy
Southern Sr., Ronnie Harris Sr., Jon LaChapelle and Lionel Southern.
Honorary pallbearers were Dietrich Browning, Anthony East, Gary C. East,
Reginald Cochran and Donte' East.
Austin County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
