Carol Ann Moore Froebel, 72, of Brookshire, passed away Friday, July 6, 2007 in Katy. Born Dec. 27, 1934 in Oakwood, Texas, the daughter of Deck Walter and Lula Murdock Moore, she grew up and attended school in Oakwood, graduating from Oakwood High School. Carol then attended Baylor University where she met her husband, Wilfred "Willie" Froebel. They were united in marriage on April 26, 1956 at the Baylor Chapel in Waco. After graduating with a Business Degree, Carol then pursued her Masters in the field of Education and History. She also earned her Administration Certification, Reading Specialization Certification and her Supervisor Certification. Carol and Willie have made their home in Brookshire. Carol was employed for 38 years in education. Twenty-six of those years were at the Royal Independent School District with 18 years in the classroom and eight years as Principal of the Royal Primary School. While at Royal, Carol was involved with Teaching and Curriculum and had served as the Federal Grants Coordinator. She loved to read and work crossword puzzles, and was an avid baseball fan. She is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years Willie Froebel of Brookshire; nephews Murdock Moore, Mike Barnes and David Barnes; brother-in-law Lee V. Froebel; sisters-in-law Waldine Lipsey, Ella Mae Koehn and Lu Ellen Luedke; and many dear friends. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Lean Barnes Moore and her brother, Buck Moore. Funeral service was 2 p.m., Monday, July 9, 2007 from First United Methodist Church in Brookshire with the Rev. Dottie Dumas, officiating.
