MARVIN 'DICKIE' KLOSTERMANN

Funeral services for Marvin ³Dickie² Klostermann, 87, of Bellville were held
Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 2 p.m. from St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville
with the Rev. Jennie Jones and the Rev. David Henske co-officiating.
Interment was at Oak Knoll Cemetery. Pallbearers serving were Joe
Higginbotham, Bill Barker, Tim Lubojasky, Douglas Lubojasky, Jimmy
Lubojasky, Bill Towns, Gene Regenbrecht and Willroy Peschel. Serving as
honorary pallbearers were his 5 grandsons, James, Dane, Matthew, Drake and
Clayton and Bellville V.F.W.
Marvin ³Dickie² Klostermann was born Feb. 16, 1920, the third child of
Alvina Lubojasky Klostermann and Fritz Klostermann in Kenney at the Travis
Community area where he attended school through the ninth grade.
He was baptized in the Lutheran Faith at Germania, Texas on July 4, 1920.
Dickie was confirmed on March 21, 1937 and remained a faithful Lutheran for
the rest of his life, always loving to attend church services.
Dickie worked 37 years in the lumber business enjoying many friends that he
made during this time. He retired in 1985.
On March 28, 1987, Dickie took on the Biggest Job of his life when he wed
Connie Lolley Pawlowski in Lake Tahoe, Nev. and in a matter of minutes
became a first time husband, father and grandfather. This role he loved and
played splendidly. With this union, Dickie received a new name as James
Tyler, then close to 2 years old had started calling him Poppy shortly
before the wedding. And as each new grandchild was born, his pride in this
name became more and more evident.
Dickie loved his family life, his good friends, baseball ³especially the
Astros², squirrel hunting, going to play Black Jack, his cattle and Charlie
Pride. Dickie spent his last days enjoying many of these things.
Dickie served in World War II in the United States Army enlisting twice and
was a member of the V.F.W. in Bellville.
Marvin ³Dickie² Klostermann died Wednesday, July 25, 2007 in Bellville.
Dickie¹s father and mother, brother, Edgar and sister Lula preceded him in
death.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Klostermann of Bellville, stepsons, Steve
Pawlowski and wife Kathy, Tim Pawlowski and wife Allyson and Joey Pawlowski
and his friend Linda all of Bellville, foster son, Frankie Krumrey and wife
Donna and Kathy Robertson and husband Keith who Dickie loved like a
daughter. His nephews, Otto Maresh and wife Hope and Otis Maresh and wife
Shirley, grandchildren James, Dawn, Dane, Eden, Matthew, Drake and Clayton,
foster grandchildren, Ashley and Ryan Payton and Morgan.  Many cousins,
friends and in-laws.
His humor, his sparkling blue eyes and caring ways will always be remembered
by his family and friends who loved him so much.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John Lutheran Church, 520
North Holland, Bellville, Texas 77418
Funeral arrangements under the direction of Knesek Family Funeral Chapels in
Bellville.
