Bellville Times

Elaine Bockhorn Kokemore was born March 11, 1931 in Washington County, Texas
to parents Louis Bernhard and Ottilie Anna Klaerner Bockhorn. She grew up in
Washington County where she attended the Pleasant Hill School and graduated
from Brenham High School.
She died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007. She was 76.
 Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Dec. 5, 2007 at St. John
Lutheran Church, Bellville, with pastors Jennie Jones and David Henskey
officiating. Interment followed in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery with pallbearers
assisting including: Gary Griesenbeck, Ronnie Bockhorn, David Bockhorn,
Robert Bockhorn, Donald Henskey and Glen Bockhorn.
Honorary pallbearers included Terry Griesenbeck, Bobby Bowden, and William
Gregory Bowden.
Elaine married Leroy William Kokemor on Nov. 21, 1954. They became the proud
parents of three children. She made her home in Bellville where she was a
member of the St. John Lutheran Church.
A hard-worker, Elaine kept her home spotless and enjoyed working in her
yard. A devoted mother and grandmother, she especially treasured the time
she was able to spend with her family and the junk food they brought her.
She enjoyed baking sugar cookies and was an avid Astros fan.
Mrs. Kokemor was survived by her daughters: Charlotte Hoff and husband,
David, and Janice Kokemor and Glen Toman, all of Bellville; grandchildren:
Tasha McDonald and husband, Kevin of Katy, Brandon Hoff and fiance', Kim
Orsak, of Bellville, and Courtney Hoff of College Station; and great
grandchildren: Kennedy and Whitney McDonald of Katy.
She is also survived by her sisters: Agnes Griesenbeck and Ellen Henske;
brothers: Roy Bockhorn and wife, Vada, and Herbert Bockhorn and wife,
Lucile; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Todd Alan Kokemor (2001), a
sister, Louise Winkelmann, and a brother, Bernhard Bockhorn.
