**DAVID GENE LEHMAN**
Bellville Times Funeral services for David Gene Lehman were conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007 at Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, Bellville, with Pastor Jennie Jones and Pastor David Henske officiating. Interment will be at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Bellville. David passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at the age of 60 in Brenham. David Gene Lehman was born Dec. 21, 1946 in Hempstead, TX, the son of William and Mary Tesar Lehman. He grew up and attended school in Waller County, graduating from Hempstead High School in 1966. Upon graduating David Served Honorably in the United States Navy, achieving the rank of Gunners Mate 3rd class. After the Navy he became employed as a lineman for San Bernard Electric Coop in Bellville. In 1977 David joined the Xerox Corp. in Houston, working as a service technician for 24 years. David was united in marriage to the former Sherrie Newman on August 28, 1976, at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville. David and Sherrie moved to Houston in 1977, where they made their home and David was employed by Xerox, then moved back to Bellville in 1983. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and Woodmen of the World. He enjoyed yard work, fishing, hunting, gardening and barbequing. He is survived by his loving wife of over 31 years: Sherrie Newman Lehman of Bellville; daughter: Melissa Lehman of Oregon; mother: Mary Lehman of Hempstead and Shirley Stevens and her husband, Bill, of San Antonio; brothers: Gary Lehman of Hemptead and James Lehman and his wife, Francine, of Oregon. Also surviving David are brothers-in-law: Butch Newman and wife, Mary Jo, of Bellville and Maurice Newman and his wife, Gail, of Bellville. Sisters-in-law: Lesia Schwarze and her husband, Bradley, of Bellville and Pattie Burgess and her husband, Paul, of Sugar Land and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, William Lehman, maternal and parental grandparents, brothers, Ernie and William Fredrick Lehman, sister, Mildred Lehman, aunt and uncle, Millie and Andrew Bonner, uncles, Buck Proheska and Ed Svach, brother-in-law, Wallace Wendt, mother and father-in-law, Rosa Lee and Carrell Newman and nephew, Jason Sassin. Pallbearers are: Joseph Newman, Mike Heins, Adrian Gutierrez, Ronnie Muery, William Krueger and Lee Charles Goebel. Posted by Joy Neely

David passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at the age of 60 in Brenham.
David Gene Lehman was born Dec. 21, 1946  in Hempstead, TX, the son of
