Lose Wilmer Samuel (Bill) Lose was born April 10,1928, in Fort Worth, the son of Esther (Hollars) and Fred Lose. He attended Fort Worth and Handley schools. He died peacefully Oct. 28. 2007, with his family at his side. Bill married Mary Buckmaster Aug. 25,1950. He is survived by wife of 57 years; son John Lose of Dallas; daughter and son-in-law Beth and Ronny Huckabee of Katy; two granddaughters Brittanii and Caylii Huckabee; one grandson, Conrad Huckabee; brother- and sister-in-law James and Thea Buckmaster of Houston; and several nieces and nephews. Bill began learning the cabinet making trade when he was 12 and working with his father. Later Bill and his father opened Lose Cabinet Shop in Port Worth. In 1960, Bill and Mary went to Papua, New Guinea as Lutheran lay missionaries. There, Bill taught the young men aspects of home and furniture construction, and they built Madang Memorial Church in honor of World War II dead. In 1977, the Loses moved from Houston to Bellville, where Bill again established Lose Cabinet Shop. He was active in church work in Fort Worth, Houston and Bellville. Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father, sisters Peggy Cozzens and Frances Hudgens, and brother James Lose. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the ELCA World Hunger Program through St. John Lutheran Church of Bellville, or to the St. John Lutheran Church memorial fund or a charity of your choice. Pallbearers were Bill Lyth, Doug Kloss, Ernie Vincik, Dennis Landua, LeRoy Grebe Jr., and Ernest Platte. Posted by Joy Neely
