Luetge LeRoy Luetge, of New Ulm, passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007 at his home in New Ulm. LeRoy was born in Industry, the son of Heinrich and Minna (Eckermann) Luetge. He was raised and lived his entire life in the Industry area. Spending his life as a farmer and rancher he played baseball for various local teams and is a member of the Old Timers Baseball Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Austin County Soil and Water Conservation, served on the Austin County Fair Board and was a 50-year member of Hermann Sons. He was a member of the Industry United Methodist Church. LeRoy married Geraldine Mittanck in Bellville in 1944. LeRoy is survived by his wife, Geraldine Luetge of New Ulm; daughter Bertha Faye Tucker and husband, Jim of New Ulm; son Gareth Lee Luetge and wife Lissa of New Ulm; sisters-in-law, Ida Luetge and Dorothy Mittanck of Bellville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Evelyn and Milbert Haedge of Hempstead; grandchildren Thomas and Lauren Luetge, Warren and wife Rachel and Jordan Barnett; great grandchildren Taylor, Andrea and Mason Luetge and Cameron and Levi Barnett and numerous nieces and nephews. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, sisters and brothers. Family received friends on Sunday, Sept. 30,2007 from 5-8 p.m. at Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapels, 842 E. Main, Bellville. Funeral Services was conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2007 at the Industry United Methodist Church, 1914 Main St., Industry with Dr. Timothy D. Abel, officiating. Burial followed in the Industry United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ron Haedge, Leonard Luetge, Thomas Luetge, Warren Barnett, Alan Haedge, and Brandon Lunsford.
