Otis B. Luetge, 78, of Shelby passed away Sunday, April 1, 2007 at St. Marks Medical Center in La Grange. Otis was born Dec. 23, 1928 in Schoenau to Hilton O. and Ada Ida Bertha Rinn Luetge. He attended Austin and Fayette County Schools and served in the National Guard. On April 14, 1951 he married to EIma Dale Fox Luetge. Mr. Luetge retired from Amoco Production Company in Houston. Otis was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby, a musician with Happy Cousins. Houston Playboys, and most notably, the Fathers and Sons Orchestra. He was a 54-year Master Mason member of Fayetteville Lodge #240 AF&AM and also a 60-year member of the Sons of Hermann. His parents, brothers Milton and Lester, sister Mercedes Jumper, brothers-in-law Raymond Brinkmeyer, Sr. and Bill Stark, sister-in-law May Luetge and nephew Raymond Brinkmeyer, Jr. preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife EIma Dale Luetge of Shelby; son and daughter-in-law Branch and Theresa Luetge of Bellville; daughter and son-in-law LouAnn and Mike Albers of Waldeck; grandchildren Madison Leigh, Courtney Monique and Zachary Ben; brother and sister-in-law Harris and Doris Luetge of Houston: sisters Waldine Brinkmeyer of Brenham, Virginia Stark of Bleiblerville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Lynn and Judy Fox of Synder, TX, sister-in-law Nora Dell Luetge of Industry; godchildren Rodney Luetge and Latrell Jankowiak along with nieces and nephews; Helping Hands Henry Ortiz, Shirlean Mays and Diane Williams. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 3 at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services was 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 4 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby. The Rev. Pamela Werrell officiated. A Masonic Graveside Service followed in the Shelby Cemetery. Pallbearers were Buck Strickler, Barnell Marek. Mark Luetge, Rocky Luetge, Rodney Luetge, Derrel Krebs, Darrell Krueger and Charles Jankowiak. Honorary pallbearers were his beloved grandchildren, nieces, nephews, Brenham's Stroke Support Group and Amoco Production Company fellow retirees. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby, 6814 Skull Creek Rd., Fayetteville, Texas 78940 or a favorite charity of your choice.
