May Edgar James May, 80, of Bellville, died Feb. 21, 2007, in Waller. Mr. May was born March 12, 1926, in Lyons, Kansas, to Roy Wallace and Amy (Stoughton) May. He was baptized and confirmed in 1954 in Hutchinson, Kansas and was a graduate of Hutchinson High School. Mr. May served his country in the Navy during World War II. On June 18, 1946, he was married to Wanda Wise in McPherson, Kansas. Mr. May was a member of the Assembly of God Church and ministered to the elderly at convalescent homes. In Hutchinson, Kansas, he was a fireman and police detective. Mr. May was a rancher and golf was his passion. He was an underwriting manager at Germania Insurance. Survivors include his wife, Wanda May of Bellville; sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Kathy May of Waller and James and Pattie May of Sugar Land; a daughter and son-in-law, Candice and Edward Jeszka of Pension, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Curtis A. May, Angela C. May, Philip A. May, Steven D. May, Amy E. May, Beth E. Jeszka, Edward T. Jeszka and Joseph A. Jeszka; three great-grandchildren, Avery A. May, Michael Jeszka and Nicholas A. May; and a brother, Robert May of Peck, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23 at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 in Memorial Oaks Chapel with Sonny Rice officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Bellville. Mr. Mayıs grandchildren will serve as pallbearers, and his great-grandchildren will be considered honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be given to Christ the Nations or the Gideons.
