Funeral services for Ervin Joe Motl, 86, of East Bernard were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard with the Rev. Don Ruppert celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of committal. Burial was at Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery in Wallis. Pallbearers were: John Allen Drabek, Donald Bartos, Louis Bartos, Robert Janik, Norbert Janik and Delbert Janik. Ervin died on April 5, 2007 in Wharton. Ervin Joe Motl was born in Industry, Texas to parents, Bernard and Amalie Svajda Motl. He was raised in Wallis and attended Wallis Catholic School. Ervin married the former Miss Emilie Drabek on Nov. 18, 1951 in Wallis. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to polka music and watching the Astros on TV. Ervin worked for Allied Concrete as a Plant Manager in the Concrete Division . ³Moe² retired from Allied in 1985. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and KJT in East Bernard. Survivors include his wife Emilie Motl of East Bernard; son Patrick Motl and wife Lori of East Bernard; granchildren Mandi Motl and fiancée Chris Brasher, Lacy and Haley Motl; sister Doris Vitek of Lake Jackson; brothers Louis Motl and wife Catherine of Hitchcock and Gilbert Motl and wife Willie Mae of Huntsville. Preceded in death by parents Bernard and Amalie Motl; son Michael Motl; brother Ben Motl and sister Bessie Janik.
