Peschel Raymond Robert Peschel was born May 9, 1915, in Austin County to parents Robert and Louise Duve Peschel. He grew up in Pesek in his early years and then moved to New Ulm in 1949 and attended school in Boggy Branch in Colorado County. Raymond married Ottilie Heinsohn on Jan. 28, 1937 in Austin County. They made their home in New Ulm and had been members of the St. John Lutheran Church in New Ulm since 1949. Raymond enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, wood working and picking and shelling pecans. He also was a member of the New Ulm Volunteer Fire Department and the Herman Sons for over 50 years, He passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, in a Bellville Nursing Home at the age of 92. He is survived by his loving family Lynette and John Frnka of New Ulm, Marilyn and Robert Neumann of New Ulm, Joyce and Ewald Schneider of Otto, Robert and Wanda Peschel of Caldwell, Lelda Peschel of Shaws Bend and Melvin Heinsohn of Columbus; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, son Harold Peschel, infant daughter Glenda Peschel and an infant great grandson. Funeral service was 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 9, 2007 at St. John Lutheran Church in New Ulm with the Rev. Bill Mosley officiating. Interment was in the New Ulm Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were John Jasek, Jonathan Frnka, Jamie Schroeder, Heath Weishuhn, Wesley Jasek, David Neumann, Edward Machinsky and Geoff Peschel.
