Ross Funeral Services for Evelyn Ann Ross, 77, of Sealy were held Monday, Feb. 26, 2007 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Frydek with the Rev. Bernard Snock celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal. Interment was at St. Mary's Cemetery in Frydek. Pallbearers serving were Donnie Fink, Milton Ermis, Scott Howard, Chris Howard, Rickey Howard and Victor Ermis. Honorary pallbearers serving were Wilbert Howard, Jerry Machala Charles Power, Shawn Walla, Jack Machala and Tommy Stockard. Evelyn was the daughter of Annie and Emil Buchala, born at home in Sealy. She was raised in Frydek and attended Frydek and San Felipe Schools, also Sealy High School where she graduated in 1948. Evelyn worked at the Red & White Grocery Store for many years and was a Door Greeter at Wal-Mart. The former Miss Evelyn Buchala married Earl Ross on July 17, 1948 with ceremony held in Frydek. Evelyn and her husband had three children together, Ronnie, Karen and Debbie. She was a member of KJZT, Catholic Daughters, American Legion and St. Mary's Altar Society. Evelyn loved football and was a great Sealy Tiger Fan. She also loved country music and loved talking on the phone to her friends and family. Everyone loved her and she never met a stranger. She loved her Lord very much and trusted Him. Evelyn was a beloved wife, Nana, Mother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. Evelyn Ross died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 in Katy. Survived by her daughter, Karen Smith and husband Jim of Sealy, son Ronnie Ross and wife Jo Ann of Sealy, sister and brother-in-law Mickey Howard and husband Wilbert of El Campo, four grandchildren Jason Sliva, Jennifer Kiemsteadt, Mandy Tilly and Carrie Cleveland, and great grandchildren Jason Kiemsteadt, Laurna Kiemsteadt, Darren Cleveland, Kayla Nelson and Aaron Nelson, nieces Tina Dorotik and her daughters Amber and Kendl Dorotik and nephews Rickey Howard, Scott Howard and Chris Howard. Preceded in death by her parents Emil and Annie Buchala, husband Earl Ross, daughter Debbie Sue Ross, and grandson Jeff Sliva.
