Schneider
Vernon Gus ³Buddy² Schneider, Sr. was born June 27, 1916, the son of Gus and
Lillian Sessions Schneider in Bellville, Texas. Buddy grew up and attended
schools in Bellville until the 11th grade and then graduated from Allen
Academy in Bryan.
Buddy was united in marriage to the former Miss Jewell Catherine Kersten in
Bellville on Feb. 26, 1936. Jewell and Buddy made their home in Bellville.
Buddy worked at the feed store with his father when he was a small boy.
Later he became part owner of the store - Gus Schneider and son - and when
his father retired it became Schneiderıs Ranch and Farm Supply.
Buddy is survived by his daughter: Kathleen Byrne of Houston, son: Vernon G.
Schneider, Jr. and his wife Diana, of Beaumont, grandchildren: Al
Geisendorff, Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Magnolia, Clayton Geisendorff and
his wife, Terri, of Sugar Land, John Vernon Schneider and his wife, Angie,
of Katy, Amye Schneider of Beaumont and Shelley Weeks of Granbury. Also
suriving Budy are his great-grandchildren: Cody, Casey, Shelby and Corbin
Geisendorff, Hayden, Marley and Corbin Weeks, sisters Jeneva Zapalac and her
husband, Frankie, of Bellville and Avis Alexander and her husband, Wayne,
also of Bellville and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Buddy was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell, in 1993 and sisters, Erna
Belle Schrader and Billie Hopkins.
Graveside services was at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 7, 2007 at Oak Knoll
Cemetery.
