Slanina
Funeral services for Marie Bernice Slanina, 90, of Wallis  were held at 10
a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007 from the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in
Wallis with the Rev. Richard Johnston celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite
of committal.
Interment was at the Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were
Mark, John, Andy, Chuck, Jason and Brad Slanina.
Marie was born in East Bernard to parents Vojtech and Marie Kuncar Novak.
She was raised in Wallis and attended Guardian Angel Catholic School.
Marie was owner/operator of  M&S Dry Cleaners.
She was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church, KJZT in Wallis and the
Altar Society.
Marie Slanina died Feb. 9, 2007 in Bellville.
KJZT Rosary was recited Monday evening.
Survivors include her children, Marie Kucera of Missouri City, Victor
Slanina, Jr. and wife Vicki of Brazoria, Norbert Slanina and wife Gloria of
Missouri City, Charles Slanina and wife Sylvia of Stafford, daughter-in-law,
Margaret Slanina of Stafford, sister, Georgie Cooper and husband Sidney of
Houston, brother, James Novak and wife Maurice of Amarillo, sister-in-law,
Grace Novak of Dickinson, 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by her son, George Slanina, sister Helen Novak,
brothers, Frank and Norbert Novak, grandchild, Christopher Wayne Slanina.
Knesek and Sons Funeral Home in Wallis was in charge of arrangements.
