Smid Graveside services for Iren' Lajvort Csaky Smid, 71, of Bellville, were held Monday, Aug. 6, 2007 at 3:30 p.m. at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery Chapel in Bellville with the Rev. Carl Williamson officiating. Interment was in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Bellville. Born on May 21, 1936 in Rahka, Hungary. Iren' was raised in Rahka and attended school in Budapest. Iren' moved to the United States in 1957 residing in New Jersey before making her way to Texas. Iren' was united in marriage to Gyula Smid in December, 1958. Iren' was a housewife before working 12 years as a nurse's aid for Sweet Briar Nursing Home. There Iren' would sit at the request of family members with their loved ones that requested 24 hour care. Iren' quit working to take care of her husband, Gyula before his death in 1998. Iren' was Catholic by faith but attended First Baptist Church of Scaly before moving to Bellville where she attended the First Baptist Church of Bellville. Iren' Lajvort Csaky Smid died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007 in Bellville. Iren' enjoyed her children, gardening, and caring for the elderly. She would put everyone first before herself. Iren' is survived by her daughters, Magdalena (Maggie) Kent and husband, Bradley of Cat Spring, Elizabeth Vaughn and husband Virgil of Bellville; sons, Julius Smid and wife, Lillian of Lolita, Texas, John Paul Smid and Louis Smid of Bellville; 8 grandchildren, Whitney and Chelsie Smid, Monica and Jennifer Kent, Edward, Travis and Mariska Vaughn, and Tammy Smid.
