Bellville Times Smith Jerry Wayne Smith, 62, of Hempstead passed away Sunday, Nov. 25,2007 in Houston. Jerry was born in Bellville, the son of Potsie and Bessie (Slama) Smith. He was raised in Bellville and worked for Lawrence Marshall Service Department in Hempstead. Jerry is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Smith of Houston, brother, Dale Smith of Alpine, Texas and grandchildren, Miranda and Andrew McNeese of Houston. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov.29, 2007 from Knesek Family Funeral Chapel. Graveside services and Internment followed at 3 p.m. from Pilgrims Rest Cemetery with Pastor Bill Montgomery officiating. Pallbearers were David Knight, Charlie Steinbach, Melvin Acock, Dean Gardner, Jack Averrett, Bobby Gardner and Pete McCord. Services under the direction of Knesek Family Funeral Chapel in Bellville.
