Graveside services for Lois Ella Porter, 84, were held on Saturday, Aug. 24, at Wagram Cemetery near Fredonia in Mason County with Pastor Stanley R. Maiden of Brady officiating. Burial followed the service.
Mrs. Porter died at Sweetbriar Nursing Home in Bellville on Aug. 21, 1985 following a long illness.
Lois Ella Flanagin was born in the Fredonia area on March 7, 1901. On Dec. 24, 1918, she was married to Frank Porter. She lived in Bellville since 1971 and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include daughter, Opal McGhee of Blaine, Wash., daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Andy Durst of San Antonio; and son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Allene Porter of Bellville; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Porter, on June 18, 1970.
