Funeral services for Mrs. Emily H. Marburger, 90, of Sealy were held Thursday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. from
St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wallis with Rev. Fred Jensen officiating. Interment was in the Sealy Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Daniel Pless, David Zahn, Olan Dittmar, Marvin Hartmann, Tommy Hartmann and Louis Hartmann, Jr.
Mrs. Marburger died Monday Dec. 10, 1990 in a local hospital.
The former Miss Emily Hartmann was born July 29, 1900 in the Rexville Community to parents Otto and Frederika
Mamerow Hartmann. She was raised and attended school in the Rexville Community and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Marburger was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wallis.
Survivors include: daughters, Ora Dell Dittmar, Nelda Marburger and Delta Marburger all of Houston;
son, Leroy Marburger of Navasota; sister, Mrs. Ruby Zahn of Wharton; brothers, Paul Hartmann of Beasley
and Louis Hartmann of Houston; Grandchildren, Sharon Wagner and Beveraly Raschke, both of Houston; great
grandchildren, Melissa Wagner, Meredith and Christopher Raschke, all of Houston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elo Alfred Marburger, daughter Viola Marburger,
sisters Minnie Pless, Mary Pless, Clara Chernosky and infant girl Hartmann, brothers, Emil, Johnnie
and Alvine Hartmann, son-in-law Finley Dittmar and step-mother Minna Thompsen Hartmann.
Services were under the direction of the Etlinger Funeral Home of Sealy.
