1992 Wm. Schomburg Funeral Service
Funeral services for Mr. William H. "Bill" Schomburg, 88, of
Bellville were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 2 from St. John
Lutheran Church in Bellville with Rev. Ann Dwelle Ward
officiating. Interment was in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Isador Zander, Harry Zander, Mel Tarwater,
Jerry Frank, Emil Frank and Oscar Schomburg.
Mr. Schomburg died Thursday, April 30, 1992 in Bellville nursing
home.
He was born July 22, 1903 in Kenney to parents Henry Christian
and Henrietta (Richter) Schomburg. He was raised in Kenney and
attended the Kenney Public School.
He moved to Bellville at the age of 20 and had resided there for
68 years.
On Sept. 21, 1935, he was united in marriage to Erna Belle
Zander at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville. Mr. Schomburg
was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville, the
Lutheran Brotherhood, and was a director on the Pilgrims Rest
Cemetery Board until this year.
Mr. Schomburg worked as a foreman for Austin County Pct. 3 for
over 55 years.
Survivors include: wife, Erna Belle (Zander) Schomburg of
Bellville, son, Wayne Schomburg and wife Marcella of Sealy;
sisters, Hattie Pieper of Brenham and Frieda Ressell of
Rockdale; brother, Theodore (Ted) Schomburg of Bellville;
grandchildren, Aaron, Neil and Leigh Ann Schomburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one
sister.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church
of Bellville.
Services were under the direction of the Knesek Bros/Etlinger
Funeral Chapel in Bellville.
