Graveside services for Elda Hoff, 88, of Granbury, Texas were held
at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 1996 from Oak Knoll Cemetery in
Bellville with the Rev. Thomas Wallace officiating.
Honorary pallbearers for the service were David and Stephen Hoff,
Zackery and David Warren, Douglas Mewis and Bill Kaliszewski.
Elda Mewis was born Sept. 2, 1907 in Bellville, the daughter of
Richard William and Adele Brockman Mewis.
She was raised in Bellville and attended Bellville public schools.
On March 26, 1932, Elda and Mr. Edgar Albert Hoff were united in
marriage in Sealy, Texas.
Elda was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Bellville and
was a lifetime homemaker.
Elda Mewis Hoff died Monday, April 15, 1996 in Glen Rose, Texas.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Edgar A. and Judy
Hoff of Granbury, Texas and Karl R. and Sue Hoff, also of Granbury;
her sisters Lottie Falk and Margaret Kaliszewski, her brother Marvin
Mewis, all of Bellville; her grandchildren Sherri Warren, Terri
Stewart, David Hoff and Stephen Hoff; her great-granchildren Carmen
Stewart Moore, Zackery Warren, Whitney Warren and Peyton Warren and
her great-great-granchildren Cayla and Caitlyn Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Adele Mewis;
husband Edgar Hoff; sisters Della Bender and Norma Frank and
brothers Roland, Roman, Delmus, Gilbert and Ruben Mewis.
Funeral services were under the direction of the Knesek
Bros./Etlinger Funeral Chapel of Bellville.
