Funeral services for Jacob (Jake) Robert Pfeffer were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 1996 from the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel of Bellville with Pastor Willie Rotter officiating. Burial was in the Oak Knoll Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Darrell Pfeffer, Darren Pfeffer, Brent Pfeffer, J. D. Loesch, Lawrence Pfeffer and Bennie Dahse.
Jake Pfeffer was born on May 14, 1913 in Kenney, Texas, the son of Charles F. and Johanna (Dahse) Pfeffer. He attended school in Kenney and was baptized and confirmed in the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg.
For 24 years he worked for the Santa Fe railroad in the maintenance department. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his grandchildren.
He passed away Monday, July 8, 1996 in a Bellville nursing facility at the age of 83 years, 1 month and 24 days.
Survivors include two sons, Melvin and wife Darlene Pfeffer and Delano and wife Jean Pfeffer all of Bellville; grandchildren, Darrell and wife Janis Pfeffer of New Ulm, Darren Pfeffer of Bellville, Marla and husband Kevin Kulow of Sealy, Brent Pfeffer of Bellville and Michelle Pfeffer of Houston. Also four great grandchildren: Kayla Kari and Jason Pfeffer and Justin Reynolds. He is also survived by his brother John P. Pfeffer of Bellville, sister Mrs. Ben Dahse of Kenney and one sister-in-law Mrs. Oscar Pfeffer of Bellville numerous other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Walter, Edward, Oscar, Arnold, Charles, Phillip and 2 sisters, Ella Schaare and Clara Wiktorik.
Funeral services were under the direction of the Schmidt Funeral Home of Bellville.
