Funeral services for Erna Belle Schomburg, 81, of Bellville,
were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997 from St. John
Lutheran Church in Bellville with the Rev. Ana Dwelle Ward
officiating. Interment was in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Jerry Frank, Aaron Schomburg, Neil
Schomburg, Mel Tarwater, Harry Zander and Ted Schomburg.
Born Jan. 1, 1916 in Bellville, Texas, Erna Belle Zander was the
daughter of Fritz Zander and Ida Krumrey Zander. She was raised
in Bellville and attended Bellville High School.
On Sept. 21, 1935 Erna Belle and Mr. William Schomburg were
united in marriage in Bellville. She worked as a receptionist
for Dr. Bob Neely for 20 years. Mrs. Schomburg was a member of
the Ladies Aide and a Sunday school teacher at St. John Lutheran
Church in Bellville.
Erna Belle Schomburg died Friday, Nov. 7, 1997 in Bellville.
Survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Marcella
Schomburg of Sealy; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Helen
Zander of Bellville and grandchildren, Aaron, Neil and Leigh Ann
Schomburg.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Fritz and Ida Zander;
husband William H. Schomburg; and sister Etta Mae Zander Frank.
Funeral services were under the direction of Knesek
Bros/Etlinger Funeral Chapel in Bellville
