Printed with permission of the San
Augustine Public Library Board of Directors. Originally
contributed by the late Mrs. Jeffie Fitzgerald Wall, the late Mrs.
Ruby Parker Dorsey and Mrs. Lois Dyes. Genealogical data was
provided by the late Mrs. Sallie Richards Whitton.
Location: Travel 2.9 miles from the court house on FM 353. Turn left on the dirt road. Go 2.3 miles keeping to the right at the fork to an unused road. Turn left, go up the hill about 150 yards to the cemetery. At one time the Black Jack Methodist Church stood at this location. It was established soon after the turn of the century. At the time the cemetery was originally indexed there were five monuments in the cemetery. Two were marked with boards and one with a field stone. The others listed are surmised to be buried here. |
