I am Jane Sanford-Hogan Keppler, the county coordinator for Shelby County Texas .   I was born in 1952 just across the border in DeSoto Parish, LA, but my parents and grandparents were born and raised in Shelby County, TX.   I now own property in Joaquin, Texas that was once my great grandparents.   Click here to meet me.

Suzanne Sowell  is the county co-coordinator.  Suzanne lives in neighboring San Augustine County and has roots in Shelby County for both her and her husband side of the family.

The Annual Homecoming of the Joaquin Community Cemetery to be held at the First Baptist Church of Joaquin on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 10:30 a.m.
Door prizes including local honey will be awarded. There will be a presentation on Connell Family History and the Connell's Ferry.
A regular business meeting will be conducted and an offering will be taken for the upkeep of the cemetery.
A potluck dinner will follow and the committee will provide ice and paper goods.
We hope that you can attend and share with us the joys of the occasion as we celebrate our beautiful historic cemetery and honor the lives of those who came before us.
If you cannot be present and desire to make a contribution, please send your check to the Association at
