On June 27, 1997 Montgomery County Texas dignitaries met to observe the
official declaration of the resolution that Montgomery County was the birthplace
of the Texas Lone Star Flag. Officials and dignitaries were: Judge Barb Sadler;
County Commissioners Mike Meador, Jim Simmons & Malcolm Purvis; Mayor
of Conroe, Carter Moore & other mayors of Montgomery County cities; Members

Members of the Chamber of Commerce and the Heritage Museum worked very hard
to find sufficient evidence to prove
Charles B. Stewart was the actual
designer of the Lone Star Flag, and deserve credit for this feat.

House of Representatives Bob Rabuck, who was instrumental in presenting
the bill to the Legislature, read the following Resolution signed by Gov.
