Jiminez Grave

This grave is located in Kenney at the R.R. and Hwy 36 overpass.

Juan was a railroad worker, and he died of a heart attack. Since the folks didn't have any idea of next of kin or details of his birth, they buried him in the grave next to the railroad rather than in a grave at the poor farm. James Hering said there was a plaque with his name and the year of death on the grave. James and another member of the historical commission surveyed the grave and cleaned the site several years ago. It is listed on the genweb site as Jiminez Cemetery. The coordinates on the website are the location of the gravesite itself. This information was submitted by Carolyn Zaskoda.
