Scholze Burials
East of Bellville
Go out Hwy 159 toward Hempstead about 3 miles. On your left there is a ranch entrance (gate locked) to the Wright place, which is leased by Sammy Pierce. From the ranch entrance, you go up the hill about ½ mile to an open field.
The cemetery is in a cleared field with thick clusters of yaupon. In one of these clusters there is an old tree, and a barbed wire fence encircles the clump. One of these is a double stone. There may be other burials where stones have tipped over or wooden markers have crumbled, because the stone markers occupy only about a quarter of the fenced-in area.
