Welcome to
Shelby County Texas
Pine Rosin School
My Aunt Myrtle Davis Parmley, now
deceased, told me this was her mother and her Aunt Olevia in this picture. She
told me it was of Pine Rosin School. When I tried to send it before, Ray
said he couldn't find Pine Rosin School. From my looking around, I have a
couple of guesses. My Aunt Myrtle remembered things pretty well, but she
could be off a little. My Grandmother, Fannie Bell Watson, daughter of
William Washington Watson and his wife, Narcissus Byrd lived in/around Ironosa.
I don't think Ironosa is still there as Ironosa. I did find something Pine but I
think it was
Pine Valley or something like that. At any rate as far as I am concerned
it was Pine Rosin School, possibly AKA something else.
I have which one is my grandmother and which one is her sister in law, but I'm
not remembering it right now. She is either the third one on the back row from
the left and the little girl in the print dress second from the end (left) in
the next Row is Aunt Olevia (Aunt Levy), but I think she is the 5th one from the
left on the back row and Aunt Levy is the other little girl in a print dress
just below her. I'll try to find the exact one. I think it is written on the
back of the picture.
I just sent information about Houston Simpson Byrd who was buried at
Pine Ridge Cemetery and that is another Pine. I didn't see anyone else in
that cemetery I recognize although I didn't look that well.
I have a school picture for my grandfather, Archie
Oliver Davis, that I will look for to send you.
I have on the back of the picture: top row 5th from left Fannie Bell Watson and underneath that, I have Next Row below Fannie - Olevia (Aunt Levie). |
