Services for Ruby Peacock, 93, of Kilgore will be two p.m. , Monday, August 2, 2010 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends James Boatman and Paul Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Overton Cemetery . Mrs. Peacock died Thursday, July 29, 2010 in Kensington , Maryland .

She was born November 9, 1916 in Center, Texas . Ruby Grimsley Peacock attended Crocket Public Schools. She and her husband Walter C. Peacock lived in Center, Texas where she attended business school and worked for AAA office. Their family moved to the Overton/Kilgore area in 1944. Ruby was a member of the First Pentecostal Church where she at one time had 14 years of perfect attendance. She worked at Nardis of Dallas in Kilgore as a seamstress.

Mrs. Peacock is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Beth Peacock of Longview, Texas; three daughters, Delia Russell and her husband Paul of Cypress, Texas, Shelia Peacock of Pasadena, Texas, Eltonette Proctor of Kensington, Maryland; two brothers, Choron A. Grimsley of Center, Texas, Weldon Grimsley of Longview, Texas; one sister, Melba Williams of Center, Texas; five grandchildren; eight great-granddaughters as well as nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Peacock was preceded in death by her daughter, Melva Gail Peacock on February 21, 2008 and her husband, Walter Cohan Peacock on October 26, 1981 .

The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Sunday afternoon between 6-8 p.m.
