Janell Shofner Samford, 81, of Center, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Nacogdoches Medical Center.

Graveside Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Oaklawn Memorial Park with Bro. Joel McMahon officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 11, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mangum Funeral Home.

She was born September 14, 1929 in Shelby County to Marvin and Zella (Litton) Shofner. Mrs. Samford received a master’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in education. She retired after 31 years as a Home Economics teacher where she taught in the Bronson and Nederland school districts. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, BETA SIGMA PHI and a life member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a wonderful, loving, wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and friend.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Marvin & Zella (Litton) Shofner, Sister, Lamerle Fleming, Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law, Clarence Ford & Ann Samford, Father-in-law & Mother-in-law, Clarence & Polly Ford Samford and Niece, Toni Alford.

She is survived by: Husband of 62 years: William Lee Samford of Center
Daughter & Son-in-law: Barbara & Jerry Pinkston of Center

Janet Denice Samford Glover , 59 of the Woodlands, passed away Saturday, December the 18, 2010 in the Woodlands. She was born August 24, 1951 in Houston to Mafitte Oswell Samford and Helen Jame Jones Samford. She was a member of the Woodlands Oaks Church of Christ. Memorial donations can be made to the Smith Cemetery fund in care of Ellen Manning 4430 State Highway 7 East, Center , Texas 75935 . Pallbearers are Brandon Lee, Sean Herrin, Alan Ray, Matt Jones, David Jones and Bobby Formean.

Visitation will be held from 1pm to service time on Sunday, December the 19, 2010 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Perkins officiating. Interment will follow at Smith Cemetery in Shelby County .

A funeral service for Loyce Collum Samford, 90, will held Thursday, August 26, at 10:30 a.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel in Nacogdoches, Texas, with Rev. Meredith Wende and Rev. Bill Parsons officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Gran-Gran, as she was known by many, passed away on Sunday, August 22, surrounded by family. Her legacy of unconditional love will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She found comfort in Isaiah 46:4, "I will be your God throughout your lifetime-until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you." Mrs. Samford is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Gay and Charles Oren of Murphy, Sheila and Allen Smith of Nacogdoches, and son and daughter-in-law, Joe Van and Linda Samford of Highland Village. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, her brother-in-law, Morris Samford of Carthage, and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Samford was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Van P. Samford. Visitation will Wednesday, August 25, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors. Mrs. Samford's son, sons-in-law, grandsons, and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.  Eunice Sanford  
BELDEN – Eunice Faye Flanagan Sanford, 82, died Aug. 12, 2010, at Specialty Hospital in Meridian. She was born to John Wesley Flanagan and Lilly Pearl Williams on April 10, 1928. She had given her life over to the Lord as a young mother at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church under Bro. Bilbo Lively and was baptized in the old pond close to the church. She moved to Aurora, Ill. in the 1950’s in search of a job as many in this area did at that time. She worked at Simpson Electric and later was employed by Western Electric which changed their name to AT&T. She stayed there until her retirement.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Tootie Ward officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Union County. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her son Donald and his wife, Marie; her two sisters, Jewel Montgomery of Hamilton, Ala. and Leazell Cassiday of Pontotoc; two brothers, Douglas Flanagan and Billy Flanagan of Brighton, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Donna Sanford of New Albany, Tara Loza of Aurora, Ill., Tracey Sanford of Mobile, Ala., Aimee Young of El Paso, Texas, Dawn Patricia Johnson of Baldwyn, Jeffrey Sanford of Baldwyn, Susan Sanford of North Carolina and Kalin Sanford of Endville; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Charles Raymond Sanford “Jamup,” Casey Raymond Sanford, Jerry Wayne Sanford; one daughter, Judy Lynn Sanford; two great-grandsons; five brothers, Charlie Flanagan, Clayborn Flanagan, John Flanagan, Bob Flanagan and Robert Flanagan; and one sister, “Coot” Gwen Morris.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

She was born May 11, 1926 to Oscar and Clara Mae (Ketchum) Davidson. She was a member of Neuville Baptist Church.

John Paul Sanford, 89, of Center, passed away Thursday, March 03, 2011 at Holiday Nursing Home.

He was born January 4, 1922 in Shelby County to John Henry and Viola May (Borders) Sanford. He was a member of the Neuville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He served in the US Marines.

Pat Norris Sanford
NORTHPORT AL---- Pat Norris Sanford, age 59, of Northport, died March 25, 2011, at UAB. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Sunset Funeral Home with Frank Jones and Rod Poovey officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Gardens with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Norris, and her brother, Michael Norris.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Sanford of Northport, Ala.; her daughter, Lila Katherine Sanford of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; her sisters, Anne Smith (Donnie) of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Sandra Kizziah of Cottondale, Ala.; and her mother, Beth Norris of Northport, Ala.

Pat was a graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School and the University of Alabama. She was an administrative coordinator of North Harbor at DCH Regional Medical Center and a longtime employee of Pine Valley Retirement Community. She served on the board of directors of Indian Rivers. She was president of NAMI and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Perry, Donnie Smith, Joey Kizziah, Eric
Kizziah, Jonathan Kizziah, and David Smelley.

Honorary pallbearers are employees of North Harbor, employees and

SANFORD, TOMMY LEWAYNE age 60, of Oneonta, AL, passed away on November 12, 2010. Mr. Sanford was the former co-owner of Allstate Glass Co. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Hart and Addie Mae Scott Sanford; and by sister, Myra Bailey. Survivors include Mr. Sanford's wife, Bonnie Sanford, of Armstead; Sons, James L. Sanford (Margie), of Pell City, and Scot Sanford, of Armstead; Grandsons, James Dylan and Andrew Hart Sanford; Aunts, Joyce Weeks, of Hillview, & Faye Butcher, of Alabaster; Uncle, Doyle Sanford (Eunice), of Hillview; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. A private memorial service will be held later by the family. The family will receive friends at Lemley Funeral Home on Sunday, November 14, 2010 from 2:00PM until 5:00PM. Tracy Lynn Sanford Kilgore

NORTHPORT Tracy Lynn Kilgore, age 40, of Northport, died July 16, 2010, at home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010, in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Coker with Rev. Donald Springer officiating and Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Derrill Smith; grandmother, Wynell Sanford; and uncle, DeWayne Sanford.

She is survived by her son, Craig Sanford (Michelle) and soon to be granddaughter Blakely Lynn; daughters, Darian Seaman and Dakota Kilgore; mother, Terrie Smith Mims; father, Perry Sanford; grandmother, Lucille Smith; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tracy was a good daughter and mother who would have been a wonderful grandmother to Blakely. We will miss her so very much.

Pallbearers will be Craig Sanford, Tyler Hubbard, Kenneth Smith, Garett Hubbard, Wesley Hubbard and Will Smith.

Honorary pallbearers are owners and all employees of Union Furniture, Billy Kilgore and Scott Seaman, special friend Melissa Pearman, very special Aunt Janice Hubbard, who was a second mother to her and whom Tracy loved so much, and Rhonda Seaman Lowery, her only sister whom she was really close to.
