[General] also Kisnick or Kishnick. Married. Enlisted June 11, 1862 at Camp Waul by Voigt. Shown on muster rolls from June 1862 to February 1863. Left as sick at Yazoo City on Feb. 20, 1863. A medical examining board in Yazoo City on May 6, 1863 recommended he be reassigned as a shoemaker for the army. On May 6, 1863 he was detailed to shoemaker service, which was his trade. Shown on a roll of prisoners captured and paroled on May 21, 1863 at Yazoo City, Miss. Shown as absent sick in Washington County in January & February 1864. Website http://bluebonnet-hill.com/civilwar.htm indicates he was in Voigt’s company and was Wendish. Rejoined Co. K of Timmon’s Regiment at Galveston. He suffered from rheumatism in knee & ankle joints and had been in the hospital for 6 months. March-August 1864 he was in Austin & Washington counties ill, and on September 10, 1864 he was sent to Houston to shoemaker service. He was 5'8" tall with brown eyes & hair.
