Dubois, Stephanie Rene (1975-2024)
[Family] Father: David DuBois, Mother: Sherry Moffatt ()
Stephanie Rene DuBois of Pflugerville, TX, arrived at her final destination on July 28, 2024. She was 48 years old.
Stephanie was born on August 10, 1975, in San Antonio, TX. Nomadic in nature, Stephanie never stayed in one place for too long. She's called so many places home: San Antonio, Houston, Austin, North Richland Hills, Dime Box, College Station, Jackson, MS, Alief, Katy, Cypress, Pflugerville...but her one true home has always been the Austin area.
It was Stephanie's love of animals that drove EVERYTHING she did. When she took over her mother's grooming and pet-sitting business, it was as if she found her calling. She loved each of her clients' pets as if they were her own - and that's saying A LOT, because few love their pets the way that Stephanie did. Stephanie took it hard when she lost her River a few years ago. We can take comfort that River was surely the first to greet Stephanie as her journey on earth ended.
Stephanie is survived by her father David DuBois (and wife Kathy), mother Sherry Moffatt (and husband Jim), brother Russell (and wife Lara), nephew Logan DuBois, and niece Lilith DuBois.
The family would like to give thanks and acknowledge Stephanie's network of friends. You walked with Stephanie during her final journey and carried her (literally AND metaphorically) when she was struggling. Thank you, Leah, Brian, Kristy, Jessica, Allen, Shawna, Rhiannon and everyone else that lifted Stephanie up in her final days. Special thanks to cousin Rob Tindle for handling a lot of the logistics and transport duties, not to mention providing a fur-ever home to Hazel and Deva.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to consider donating to Austin's Christopher House. They provided a superb level of care to Stephanie in her final days. https://www.hospiceaustin.org/get-involved/donate/
