Haidusek, Debra Cecilia (Lezak) (22 Jan 1955 - 1 Aug 2022)

Family- Father: Bob Lezak, Mother: Madine Krancher, Spouse: Patrick Haidusek Cemetery: Frydek Catholic Cemetery References: GenFolks

Debra Cecilia Lezak Haidusek was born on January 22, 1955, in Bellville, Texas, to Bob and Madine (Krancher) Lezak. She was baptized in Frydek at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Deb attended Frydek Catholic School, Frydek Public School, and Sealy High School, where she graduated in 1972. She worked for Shell Oil Company for 22 years.

On July 2, 1977, Deb was joined in marriage to Patrick “Rick” Haidusek.

Deb's faith was very important to her, and she was a devote member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she served as a lector and led the rosary before mass.

After her career with Shell, she found her true calling in life. Deb loved helping other people more than anything else; it did not matter who you were and whether it was as simple as running errands, going to the grocery store, doctor's appointment, working in their garden, lending an ear, or being by their side when the Lord called them up. She was one of a kind and had a very caring and giving heart!

Everyone will remember Deb as vibrant, full of life, and always talking about something. Whenever she and her best friend Michelle Ladd got together, you were lucky to get a word in edgewise.

Deb passed away on August 1, 2022, following a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. Her family and friends will miss her tremendously, but we all feel a sense of comfort knowing she is at peace with the Lord, and all the lifelong memories will live forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her husband Rick, sons Clayton Haidusek and wife Kristin, Caleb Haidusek and wife Ashley, brother Tim Lezak, nephew Tyler Lezak, granddaughter Kallie Haidusek and grandsons Camden, Connor, Creed, Liam, and Carter Haidusek.

Deb loved her family dearly and treasured every moment spent with them, she enjoyed nothing more than when the family gathered at their house for Sunday dinner, which usually included her homemade chicken noodle soup or spending time at Rancho Not So Grande, the family place in the Hill Country. She was not your typical grandma; she was the greatest “GoGo” in the world.

She also enjoyed collecting crosses, and religious items, her display of such is unmatched.

She is preceded in death by her father, Bob Lezak, mother, Madine Lezak, sister, Beverly Koym, father-in-law Edwin Haidusek and mother-in-law Frances Haidusek.

Deb lived her life to the fullest and was the kind of friend; a friend would like to have!

Corinne Miller Hartmann went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 25, 2016, at the age of 89. Corinne was born in Lee County, Texas on April 10, 1927. One of four children, she grew up in the country, steeped in her German heritage, working on the farm.

After meeting and marrying the love of her life, Emil Hartmann, they began their life together in Houston, Texas. They were married for nearly 34 years and raised their two sons, Tommie and Ronald, in the home that Emil built for them. Corinne and Emil were known for hosting various celebrations for family and friends. Corinne was always cooking, whether it was at the cafeteria where she worked, in her kitchen at home, or at her other kitchen in Sealy, Texas. She never disappointed with her German noodles, butter chews, or chicken fried steak. The perfect day for Corinne was spent fishing with family, enjoying a picnic basket full of her fried chicken, sipping a cold beer, and planning when she would cook the catch.

She spent countless hours with Emil on the dance floor, playing dominos with friends, and playing games with her grandchildren at the kitchen table. At Trinity Lutheran Church, where she became a communicant member on November 8, 1948, she attended Sunday school, organized the pew cards, fluffed the plastic bunny baskets to sell, and provided dozens of cookies or casseroles upon request. She and Emil reserved Sunday for the Lord. Corinne, affectionately referred to as Mother Dear, Momma, Granny, and Aunt Corinne will be missed.

The family would like to thank Dorothy Middleton and Alba Williams who enabled Corinne to stay in her home as long as possible. More recently, the family is grateful for all the care provided to Corinne by employees of Windsor Houston and Grace Hospice. Willie (Bill) Hein
January 23, 1923 - February 12, 2013

Willie Fred Hein, 90, of Wallis went to be with his Lord February 12, 2013 in Wharton, Texas following a prolonged illness.

He was born in Priddy, Texas on January 23, 1923 and was brought to baptism there by his parents. Willie moved with his family to East Bernard, Texas and became a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wallis, Texas. He was confirmed at St. Paul by Pastor Nerger. Willie graduated from East Bernard High School in 1942. He went to work for Brown Shipbuilding as a welder.

Willie was drafted at the beginning of World War II on February 26, 1943 to serve his country in the Army. He proudly served in Company A 300th Engineer (C) Battalion, fighting with them in the Battle of the Bulge and on Utah Beach in the D-Day invasion. He was awarded an EAME Campaign Medal with 5 Bronze Stars, a Good Conduct Medal and 3 Overseas Service Bars. He documented his experiences during World War II by taking pictures which have become a legacy of his service for his family and friends.

The one church office he cherished the most was that of Sunday School Superintendent. For 20 years, he lovingly served the children of St. Paul's whom he always referred to as “His Sunday School Kids”.

Willie also loved to farm corn and cotton. He would rather ride on his tractors than anything else. After retirement, Willie also went into the cattle business. Heintschel, Estella Elizabeth (Schwanbeck) (7 Dec 1917 - 17 Jun 2013)

Family- Father: Oswald J. Schwanbeck, Mother: Ida Doernbrack, Spouse: Arthur Heintschel References: GenFolks

Bellville Times

Estella Elizabeth Heintschel 95, was born and raised in Cat Spring. She was born on Dec. 7, 1917 and passed away on June 17, 2013 in Bellville.

Survivors include her Daughter, Patricia Grigar and husband Wayne of Sealy, son, Kirby Heintschel of Cat Spring, grandchildren, Kimbra Hill and husband Welton, Kellie Machala and husband Ron, great-grandchildren, Lauren Kay Machala, Noah Ellis Hill and Jordan Beth Hill.

Preceded in death by her parents, Oswald and Ida Schwanbeck, husband, Arthur Heintschel, sisters, Leona Doering and Norma Schwanbeck, great grandson, Paul Gundy.

The best way to describe Estella is to say she lived simply and was a living example of Galatians 5-22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” She took time to read her Bible every day. In it you would find many notes, prayers and scripture references tucked away. No matter what obstacle she was faced with she would turn to faith and prayer.

Estella volunteered at church throughout her life, she was a Sunday school teacher, she served at the annual church barbeque, baked for ladies aid, and many other areas. She loved her family and treasured it as her greatest blessing. Gardening, cooking, canning and sharing home-grown and homemade gifts brought her joy.

She looked forward to her “hair appointment” every Friday afternoon. She didn't go to a fancy salon. She went to the same antique vanity set up in the back bedroom of her house. She would have Kellie and Kimbra there. Their job was to set up the bobby pins, combs and hairspray and take the rollers out of her hair before the stylist arrived. Her daughter, Patricia, was the stylist. On Fridays, as soon as Patricia finished at work, she went to Estella's house. The fresh coffee was brewing and the delicious smell of a homemade dessert filled the air. Many times it was coffeecake, sometimes her delicious lemon pie, but whatever it was everyone always hoped to get a second serving!

If you knew Estella, you knew about her beautiful garden. Working with her flowers and vegetables gave her great joy and times of peace. She liked planting flowering sweet pea vines and zinnias, but grew them on the side of the house that she couldn't see from her kitchen window. She said she didn't plant them for herself, but for others who drive by to enjoy.

She and Arthur loved to dance. She also liked participating in celebrations of her German heritage and traditions. Her lifestyle was simple but gave her contentment. She believed our lives on earth were a time for the Lord to prepare us for our beautiful birthday in heaven.

Heintschel, Kirby Lee ( - 19 Feb 2014)

Family- Father: Arthur Heintschel, Mother: Estell References: GenFolks

Bellville Times

Kirby Lee Heintschel, 69, passed away February 19. He was born during World War II in McAllen, Texas. He was the firstborn to Arthur and Estella and he arrived at a time when Arthur was on active duty in the Aleutian Islands.

In his youth, Kirby spent a lot of time with his grandparents, the Schwanbecks, at their homestead in Cat Spring. From the time spent with them, and experiences shared with family Kirby realized his love of the outdoors. He learned to embrace simplicity and appreciate the land for its agricultural value.

Kirby attended Orchard High School. He was academically successful and lettered in every sport. He received top honors in band for playing the trumpet and became a member of the elite stage band. Kirby declined a music scholarship at Sam Houston to fulfill his dream of attending Texas A&M, where he received his Bachelor of Industrial Arts.

His career began as an Industrial Arts teacher and later he achieved the position of project manager for Brown & Root. This gave Kirby the opportunity to travel throughout the US. This was a fun time, Kirby's prime of life. The family would get so excited for the weekends when Kirby would be coming home for Sunday dinner. He would drive up in his sparkling clean, rumbling v-8, 1968 Pontiac GTO. You could count on him to arrive early enough to spend time playing with his nieces, Kellie and Kimbra. He had a nick-name for Kimbra, the baby of the family, Kimmie-Kim-Kim, which he called her for the rest of his life.

Kirby also enjoyed teaching the girls skills and hobbies, from leather tooling to canoeing. One of his favorite hobbies was photography. He captured the majority of the family's cherished moments and provided the keepsake photographs they still enjoy today.

Kirby also loved music. One thing Kellie and Kimbra remember is the number of times, over many years, they had to be reminded not to mess with Uncle Kirby's stereo. He was very particular about the settings of his equalizer and proper handling of the records. It was difficult, but they waited patiently for him to play some of his albums. He loved all of Elvis' music, especially his gospel songs. Kellie and Kimbra also remember his fascination with Crystal Gayle. She's one woman he would have married!

During mid-life, Kirby decided to go back to his roots and move back to Cat Spring, residing at his grandpa and grandma Schwanbeck's homestead. He enjoyed raising Brahma cattle and farming.

After many years of being settled in this way of life, Kirby continued in his pursuit of growth. He re-entered college and obtained his real estate license and worked for Marek Real Estate for a time. He finally wrapped up his years of labor as a teacher, once again, as a driver's education instructor.

In Kirby's final chapter of life you would read sad stories of his deteriorating physical and mental health. But the last pages don't have to end in gloom. You can read about how truly blessed Kirby was to have his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Wayne. The care and love they shared with Kirby during the last, physically painful years of his life certainly made his days brighter. Patricia and Wayne have, once again, taught their family by example what love is supposed to look like. The unselfish, time consuming, servant-hearted, compassion, care and love given to Kirby gave back his dignity, his self-worth and helped him keep his faith in God.

We will remember Kirby's years of strength, his accomplishments, his love of music, and his faith. One of his favorite Elvis songs was “Take my Hand, Precious Lord”. How appropriate, as Kirby hadn't been ale to walk for a few years, he was withering away and weak. How perfect are the lyrics.

Rowland Hess Passes Away 1918, The Sealy News

Friday night as the hour of midnight was approaching the soul of little Rowland Hess, took its flight to the realms of the great beyond and returned to Him that gave it. Peacefully the eyelids closed in death and sweetly he slumbers on.

Rowland, who was the youngest child of Mr. And Mrs. Henry Hess was taken ill Saturday, Feb. 16th, with pneumonia and died Friday night at 11-50 p.m. All that loving hands could do was of no avail for the Master saw best to pluck this tender bud from our midst.

The eight years of his earthly sojourn was one of the happiest and sweetest. Not only will he be missed in the home but in the school and Sunday school class there is a vacancy that can never be filled. The little playmates of the neighborhood and intimate friends will miss his cheerful companionship. Though he is gone from our earthly sight, we know there will be an eternal meeting where sorrow and sadness never enter and he is patiently waiting for the loved ones to join him.

Those of the family that remain to mourn his loss are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hess, one sister, Clara and four brothers- Monte, Hugo, Jesse and Floyd.

The services were conducted by the Rev. Bird of the Episcopal Church at the family residence, with burial in the Sealy Cemetery. Those acting as pall bearers were- Misses Ruth Preibisch, Ruth Sigler, Myrtle Schier and Mabel Schindler, all girls of high school.

Many beautiful floral offerings marked the last resting place of little Rowland Kennith Hess.
